Fanconi syndrome (FS) is a disorder of proximal renal tubular transport leading to variable expression of aminoaciduria, glycosuria, phosphaturia, and type II renal tubular acidosis. Acquired Fanconi syndrome has been reported most often in association with drugs, paraproteinemias, amyloidosis and heavy metal toxicity.
