In this study an attempts were made to assess:

• The possibilities of inducing colonies to produce more propolis (both in traditional & box hives)
• The tendency colonies toward propolis collection,
• ·The optimal time for propolis harvesting
• The amounts of propolis that could be harvested per colony/annum
• The impact of inducing colonies for propolis production on honey yield.
